About Licensing

You must successfully complete a course with Japan Drone Organization at a certified drone school. Licensing conditions vary depending on the type of course.

・ Please submit photos taken within the last 3 months clearly and must be front-face, show your head and shoulders with no hat, no tinted or colored glasses, and a uniform and plain background.

・ Please send photos with a length of 640 pixels and a width of 480 pixels or more.

・ The maximum size is about 2MB, and the format is "JPG" or "PNG."

The following confirmations must be made using identity verification documents.

--The names of the submitted documents and the identity verification documents must match.

--The date of birth of the submitted documents and the identity verification documents must match.

Basic Resident Registration Card with photo identification

The license is valid for two years from the date of issue. If you wish to continue your certification, you will need to renew it every two years. 

After successfully taking a course with Japan Drone Organization, the license fee will be paid to receive your license card and certificate. To prevent a lapse in your certification, there is a license renewal fee every two years. If you take additional courses during the two year period, you will be charged a "license addition / reissue fee" to update your license card. These costs are subject to change.

"License fee": 12,000 yen (excluding tax)

"License renewal fee" 12,000 yen (excluding tax)

"License addition /reissue fee": 6,000 yen (excluding tax)

Both the certified license card and the certificate can be reissued. We will send you a reissue application, so please contact us at info@jpndo.com. A handling fee (6,000 yen) will be charged for the reissue.


About Certified Drone Schools

You must successfully pass the Instructor Course with Japan Drone Organization.

Indoor airfield (rented facilities are acceptable) and classroom facilities are required. Other equipment can be discussed during a preliminary meeting with Japan Drone Organization.
